Meeting God on the Peaks and in the Valleys
We believe that the outdoors have been made for doing exactly this and you can see how God used His creation for all this. God gave the ten commandments on Mount Sinai in the Old Testament. Jesus challenged his disciples during a storm on a lake and often took them on mountains in the New Testament.
Nature, adventure and outdoor challenges are an amazing tool that we use to disciple people who are excited about God.
DTS is amazing!
You will find out new truths about God, yourself, other people & cultures.
During the lecture phase, roughly the first four months of the school, you will be based in the beautiful city Freiburg, which is close to the Black Forest, Switzerland and France. Here you will face challenges that might change your whole character, your lookout on life and completely turn around your future plans. DTS has been designed to take you away from traditions and head knowledge, to focus on real heart change. You want to get real with yourself, others and God? You’ve come to the right place!
All this happens in close fellowship with the other students, as well as a small staff team while being taught by outstanding teachers. During this time, you can expect to spend around four to six weeks being taught on the trail and in mountain huts in Switzerland, France and the Black Forest. You will also get to spend around four weeks traveling to other countries, with possibilities ranging from Bulgaria, the United Kingdom to Israel.
In addition to the days which we spend on the trail and in mountain huts, you will also get to enjoy several one-day activities like rock climbing, via ferrata, canoeing and caving.
These adventures are not only about fun, they are another foundational way to learn more about your faith, God and yourself.
While the lecture phase focuses on getting to know God, the outreach phase is all about making HIM known.
This time is to apply all the things that you have learned during the first four months.
You will do things you might never have imagined yourself doing – be it preaching to a church or on the street, carrying Bibles to a remote mountain village, digging the foundations of a church or teaching young believers.
As Mountain DTS we will go to places where few others go, bringing the Gospel to the unreached, working on ending Bible poverty as well as sharing our faith naturally with other like-minded adventure and outdoor enthusiasts.
